I have just bought a nes hard drive 200gb and i formatted it and put on a primary dos partitiion and windows xp and when i logged into windows the hard drive says it is only 130gb can anyone tell me why???
if your windows cd didnt had sp1 or sp2 integrated that explains it , sp1/sp2 supports hard drives over 128gb while with no-sp you cant go beyond it , so you gotta install sp1 or sp2 if you havnt alredy done so and then use a partition manager to create another partition from the unallocated space, for that you can use either windows builtin disk managment or any partition manager like disk director suite/paragon partition manager/partition magic etc.. to get into the windows disk managment goto start-->settings-->control panel-->administrative tools-->computer managment-->disk managment , check out this guide on integrating sp2 http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sp2_slipstream.asp
