Leave me and my ancient equipment alone

I have heard of cheap desktops doing this, and it's nothing but a huge headache. I only learn as I buy, I tend to not read up on websites are they are all, mostly, biased.

Hi again,

I think I've found the problem, it appears to be iTunes, the problem appears whenever I re-install iTunes and restart the computer, but goes away as soon as I uninstall it and restart the computer, I know the best thing would be to not have iTunes on my system but I really would like to keep iTunes, any suggestions?

(p.s didn't reply to your posts because I assumed I would be notified through email if there were replies to my thread).

It could be iTunes running in the background that is hurting you.

(By default, no.)

I had a similar problem where Bonjour was causing massive performance issues. Try going to your task manager>processes and kill Bonjour.exe (I think that's what its called). A complete removal (registry) of iTunes, and subsequent clean install of the new version might do the trick?
