MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition Audio problem

So, i just built my friend a PC, with a 4690k cpu + MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition motherboard, Installed all the drivers, and audio ones, but his audio won't work, it's crossed out, every time i try and install it manually, it comes up with a 0x0000000ff error.

Has he been sent a faulty mobo with faulty audio jacks? even tryed looking online for a fix and none worked. updated chip drivers, updated graphics card drivers, did audio drivers etc, nothing worked.

Rear, well, all of them. The speaker in the right of the pc has a red line across it. drivers are installed. ill see if i can get screenshots later when you click on it, doesn't even open a volume control

What does Device Manager show about the status of the device?

May want to also check the BIOS to see if it's disabled.

It shows in the device manager, and i checked the bios as well, it was enabled.

Ah, that i did not look at... lol Damnit! I'll have to ask him when he gets back, see if he can take a look for me.


*EDIT* ok, got a pic of it from him. Not sure what is causing this.

Nvidia will be HDMI output. The other is just improper drivers or not installed right. Completely remove the drivers for the motherboard audio and see if the Windows drivers work instead.

Windows drivers? he has un-installed them all, i told him to restart.

*EDIT* he restarted, and this happened, *pic attached*

Still no sound.

Windows drivers = the drivers that come by default within Windows.
