Mouse goes astray sometimes.

I'm using a Logitech MX 700 and sometimes the pointer on the screen will go where ever it wants. I'm thinking it is because I have it on a plain black mouse pad. Could that be the reason?

Make sure theres no hair or dirt in the laser/optical (can't remember which the MX700 uses). Might sound easy but whenever a piece of hair gets in the way of the laser on my G5, it goes crazy.

if im right the mx 700 is wireless corect? well when i use my wireless mouse with my laptop it will sometimes move all over the place when its to far away from the reciever. Could also be a conflict with another program running
