Default Motherboards

Sorry if this sounds basic, but Server motherboards are just like regular mobos only they are designed to handle higher memory/speed/etc., right? Any mobo can handle server OS' and vice versa? Are many of the server mobos incompatible with ATX?

They are basically the same. You will find server motherboards to be dual or more processors or made for Xeon processors etc. You can run a server OS on any motherboard providing the CPU is fast enough.

server motherboards are normally a different socket e.g. s940 and have support for various features required for servers like ECC.
