Default Motherboard won't detect SATA HDD..

I have a weird problem.. my motherboard detects the SATA HDD, but it doesn't.. I can see it in 'My Computer', but when I go to BIOS it's not even there. Has anyone had this problem before? Please pass me some info.

CPU: Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz
Memory: Patriot 512 x2 Dual Channel
HDD: Seagate 160 GB SATA2
