Motherboard fried?

My ASUS A78NX with WXP Pro wont boot past the initial WXP little boot screen. It keeps recycling back to initial turn on phase and then the WXP boot screen comes up, and a couple times the Blue Screen of Death. I tried to even reload the OS and it wont take it at all, just recycles itself. I turned it off, and took the CMOS battery out and tried to reboot and nothing. Is it my motherboard? I even took the memory sticks out, one at a time, to see if they were a problem, and no change.
If it is my motherboard, can I change it, without redoeing the hard drive? Or do I have to reload the system?

Have you tried reformating and then reinstalling?

Reformating will wipe all information.

Try a repair First.

I tried reformatting, and nothing, it went straight to reboot and a couple of blue screens of death came up. The WXP disk went through most of the boot up where its loading files etc, but then it reboots.
