I bought a new CPU earlier today, not even thinking whether or not my motherboard could handle it. ecs rs485m-m motherboard thats the motherboard I have right now. I put in the new CPU which is a AMD AthlonX4 645. When i turn the computer on it seems to start up fine but nothing appears on the monitor so I removed the new CPU and put the old one back in and it worked fine. I'm unsure if the motherboard can handle the CPU and any help would be appreciated. I've read it could be the BIOS but when I try and update them I get sent to a third party website looking for payment.
