yea give me what you got on changing my build...that was my friends build...any help you can give the both of us would be appreciated!

the budget is 1000

but hopefully spending 500-800

How about some Gskill(great overclocker) or some crucial ballistix (50 bucks I think) instead of that adata ram.
Newegg.com - Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
Newegg.com - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
You dont want a 8600gt, crap card(well there are much better). Get a 3850, much more bang for your buck and you will not regret spending the extra cash, great card.( but I guess if you are gonna be gamin on that 15 in, you don't really need it, but still. You may as well get a 7 series card. But that 3850 might be out of your budget.
Maybe pick up one of these (someone correct me if this is not the right one)
Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard - Retail
and I would get a...
Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 Conroe 2.33GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Retail
get a little more cash and spring for one of those instead of your 4500. It will OC great, and it is a nice chip.

Thats 720 if you upgrade to those parts and keep your 8600gt, which I would not suggest doing. You will regret it. But you can always get a diff mobo, considering the one I picked out was 110 or so, not 60. And 720 is with the Gskill ram, which is great ram.

EDIT:
Let me revamp that. This is the build I would suggest minus the case and optical and stuff. That is preference really.

unless someone has a better hdd to get. What are peoples thoughts on that?
and anyone know when those 8800gs's hit the market? Those beat out the 3850 for only 180. But I dont really have a video card to suggest. but that comes to (with your case&dvd drive).. 535 after like 20 bucks of mail in rebates. + a few bucks for a video card, maybe 200 or so for a GT if you can grab a deal, and you got a really nice rig.

Oh and I suggest getting a sata dvd drive, not a IDE. nice looking :D which is like 15 bucks more.
