Monitor problems?

I just got a new X22 Gamer Sceptre LCD monitor, I'm having problems with the DVI, so I'm currently running it in VGA. I've heard that the DVI cables are commonly defective with this type of monitor (from Newegg) But recently its been doing a weird single beep. When I first got the monitor and hooked it up, it did it once. Now its done it about 6 times within the last 30 minutes, while running a game. Does anyone know what would cause this loud beep? And would it have anything to do with my DVI problem?

is the beep from the tower or monitor?

It's coming from the monitor. Either that or my speakers. The tower is on the floor and definitely doesn't sound like it's coming from there.
