Monitor problem, DVI power saving mode

I recently got a new monitor - it's an LG W2361v, works perfectly when I use it with VGA. However, whenever I try to use it with DVI, it automatically goes into DVI power saving mode. Refuses to come out of it at all. Normally I wouldn't be too bothered but I just got a VGA cable for my 360 so I'd like to just effortlessly switch back and forth between the 360 and my PC rather than having to reconnect them all the time.

My GPU is an nVidia 9800GT.

Try a F8 Safe Mode boot. If that works make sure your display resolution is set to the native resolution of the monitor so that on the next normal boot it will be using the native resolution.
