my monitor keeps on turning off at random times, even if im just using word or excel. i tried to reformat my pc a million times (with windows xp sp2 or xp x64 edition) and the same problem occurs. sometimes it just gives me 3 days to breath and then the problem re-occurs. only the monitor shuts down though. the cpu seems to be working since it still has its "active" LEDs on.

i have to restart it manually each time this happens so i can see the windows desktop again.

Specs:

MSI-K8M Neo V motherboard
AMD athlon 64
ATX dynamo-450 power supply
seagate barracuda 80 GB
PC333 512 MB RAM

ive been having sleepless nights with this problem. reformatting, unplugging evrything and plugging them back in. nothing seems to work.

what seems to be the problem? having this computer is worse that having a grumpy infant at home.

HELP!!!!

its an nvidia geforce 4 graphics card. i actually reseated everything to make sure that all components are plugged in well. :) still the same old boring problem unfortunately.

i havent tried that one yet coz i was so focused on the mobo or power supply or the video card being the problem.

im going to swap monitors but just for added info, i installed pc wizard 2007.
