I've got a Microtek 15" LCD monitor. When I boot up the computer, the monitor starts out normal, but only for a second or two. After which it goes almost black (you can still see the screen, but it is extremely hard). I've tried hooking it up to a different video card and even switched the VGA cable, with no luck. I've also tried the different settings i.e. brightness, contrast, auto-adjust. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this something that's fixable, or completely dead?

I think it's a monitor problem, and I don't think it's the kind of problem that you can fix by yourself...You could ask on a repair shop if they can repair it,and how much it'll cost.

I've tried another computer, another vga cable and even a third video card. All of these don't seem to work. It's just weird that the screen will be fine for a second or two and then go to almost black?
