Default Monitor Flicker

My sisters monitor closes in on its self a few times a day (2 black bars slowly flatten the screen) and it is really bugging her, it is my old monitor and it worked fine for me, the video card has been used on a lcd with no problem,

Any ideas?

Is it a crt? My dad used to work for samsung repairing crts so Ill ask him what might cause this. Im almost positive it probably something with your monitor and not your actual rig.

Okay he told me some stuff, most of it was like Swahelee to me but Ill try lol

He said if their vertical bars then the vertical may have gone bad. If its horizantal then the horizantal has gone bad. If you could get a picture up of it like with a digi cam I could show him, and he could tell you exactly what the problem is.

Check there is nothing that could be producing a magnetic field near the monitor, as this could interfere with the cathode ray tube inside, bending the rays towards the centre of the screen hence the black lines.
