Recently i've been having some difficulties with my computer at start-up. When I turn on my computer, my monitor won't respond. I wait a few minutes, still nothing. I have to hit the "restart" button a couple times in order to get anything. Yesterday I only had to do this once. Today the first time I hit restart it got me to the BIOS screen, then went blank. I had to hit it again. This has never happened before, although I have noticed something a little odd about the start-up sequence of my computer since I built it. I don't know what it is, but something doesn't seem quite right. Any help?

Looking at your sig, it's onboard, do you have another video card to test this?

Could be just your monitor going bad. Can you test this on a different system?

Not really. I know the onboard graphics have problems- the driver frequently stops working, and recently i've also been getting white screens that don't go away. If I had the money, i'd get a new video card- but unfortunately I don't.

Are you sure the monitor works?

I would guess it IS your onboard video. You can just get a cheap one somplace, and use it until you can afford a more beefy one.
