Question Missing RAM

I installed 1 GB of RAM (Yeah, I know, Pathetic) into one of my laptops, when I go to system properties or whatever that's called, to view your system's hardware, it says 768MB. Where's the other memory?

256mb could be allocated to the graphics card.

or a little dwarf ate 256mb of your ram. Your going to want to go and buy a can of compressed air and blow the dwarf out.

peter is probably right.
