a minor keyboard malfunction

Not sure if this is the right forum as I suspect it is a software problem.Anyway, the keyboard has 2 keys that have interchanged values.I think the keyboard may not be at faullt because when I change hard drives the problem disappears
I am WinME,Presario 5030(anno 1998)
