Microphone problems.

I'm having trouble with my microphone. I have to talk really loudly before anyone can hear me.

The Playback volume is on full. The Record volume is on full (with microphone selected). The drivers are fully updated. Even with my microphone on full volume it is still hard to hear me.

I also have microphone boost enabled. I've tried reinstalling sound drivers but no help. The microphone works perfectly on other computers.

What soundcard do you have?

It's an onboard one.

my onboard failed and i had the same problem there is nothing you can do shy of replacing the motherboard so i just bought a sound card trust me its not only worth it but it will fix the problem

Ok Thank you. Do you know a REALLLLLY cheap sound card which will do the job? I don't care about listening quality as long as my voice is clear.
