Re: Microphone not working
In the Realtek HD Audio Manager, does it recognise that something is in fact plugged in? If it does, right click on the port (line in if it's connected to that, mic otherwise etc) and it should ask you what kind of device is connected. Make sure (esp if using the Line In jack) that you select "Microphone".
Next open "Sound" in Control Panel and go to the Recording tab. One option should be showing up green - which is it? Should be something like "Line In Realtek High Definition Audio" if it's plugged into the Line In jack
