Memory Question

I have a Compaq NX7300 laptop with 2 memory slots. I have 1 gb in each slot yet when I display my memory it says I only have 1 gb installed. Is there any reason it's not recognizing the 2nd gig of memory? Anything I can do in some type of config parameter, ...?

Welcome to tech forums, in order to make sure both memory sticks are being seen correctly.
Please make sure both of them are securely connected to the sockets.
Also go back into bios and look under DDR memory, what is your current speed and memory in there ?
Need to find out what type of DDR module you got and what brand it is if possible.

Thanks MM, both sticks are Kingston:1gb x memory - SO DIMM 200-pin; DDR2 SDRAM, speed 667 mhz. I'll have to check the BIOS when I get home later.
