Hi.

I've recently built my own computer with the following Spec

AMD 64 3500 CPU
ASUS A8N-SLi deluxe
Geforce 660GT
2x512Mb DDR400
160GB SATA Hard Drive

It is powered by a meaty 550Watt Akasa SLi ready PSU.

A couple of times, when I havent' been upto much, my computer has suddenly restarted. Its not as if ive been playing Call of duty 2 for hours or anything.

My brother thinks its heat related. But Im not so sure. the air coming out of the 2 case fans feels quite cool. The CPU on the bios reads 31C and the Case temperature reads just under 30C

Does anybody know what the problem maybe?

Cheers Dudes.

Check to make sure you mounted your motherboard correctly. If it's touching the case (other than the screws and nylon spacers), it'll ground out and most likely restart.

Random Restarts that are PSU related aren't due to the total Output Wattage of a PSU. It doesn't matter if it's a 700watt PSU.

If the Rails & Voltages aren't stable and fluctuate too much, random restarts and reboots will be a common sign. Find someone with a multimeter or buy one for like $19.00 and check the PSU for stability.
