Default master primary drive?

how do i connect a sata hard drive so that its master primary? i put it in the sata1 slot and it still comes up as 3rd master.

also, when i put in the windows disk, it says "error loading OS"

newegg wont rma the windows upgrade disk.. wonderful

this thing is really just one big headache... i wish i could just sell it

shouldent there be a jumper on the HDD? If not look in you're bios settings.

SATA drives don't have jumpers. put the SATA cable in a different motherboard plug.

i'm assuming your system is something like: ide drive as primary master, dvd drive as secondary master and you have just added an sata drive? that is why it says third master because basically ALL sata drives operate as a master
