Default Massive problem unsure what is causing it :(

As title says, its freezing and choking on games such as pro street/neverwinter nights, pro evolution 2009, all games dont run right even low end games such as settlers.

Graphics are blurry (pro evo, blurry transitions when running through), images disappearing (pro street, cars etc), nwn (cannot handle it even on pure minimal settings)

Im confused...jad it serviced they said its working fine it obviously isnt

Specs:

AMD 64 Athlon Dual Core 5200+ 2.7 gb
2gb DDR2 Ram
Geforce 8500 GT
Windows Vista
500w PSU

Seriously shouldnt be doing what its doing can I get some advice please.

Note no net at home so my replies might be delayed.

p.s thanks in advance.

Update the drivers on the video card. If that doesn't fix it try replacing the video card.

what is that compared a geforce 8500 gt? better/worse etc? I am thinking of getting a 8800 gts or a 9600 gt....not sure if its even a gfx problem or just vista being vista.....never had these problems on xp....but then again my card didnt run games any better either...but there was no irratic behaviour like there is on vista.

The 200m is a laptop card! From like 3yrs ago, so worse.
At current prices, get a 9800gt. THE 9 SERIes are much cooler than the 8 cards.

Your system is top notch, but it isn't bad either. I wonder is you got an extra gig of ram would help?

Have you checked for crap in your system, spyware etc.
