Default make-up on a pimple?

How can I test for burned out pixels on a LCD panel monitor.
I once saw a Color flashing software thing that ran all the colors
to check for bad pixels. What would software like this be called.

Also , If a LCD is past waranty and has bad pixels, how would you suggest to fix the problem. Is there supporting software that can correct the blacked out dead pixels, kinda like a make-up on a pimple?

Thank you

when i get around to it)

no there really isn't much you can do about dead pixels. you don't really need software to detect them unless you want to know they're there before the end of your warranty period because otherwise they aren't really a problem until you notice them.
