Low preformance with 7800gs

Heya guys, Just installed a 7800gs on my system (from a x800). downloaded the newest drivers etc. anyways my problem is that i havent noticed that much increase in performance from my x800

I figured it would be a pretty good increase. also ive noticed that when closing a window the graphics flicker a little, and when surfing some sites (with lots of links) the mouse tends to lag around and i figured it was a graphics problem

My current PC is
AMD ATHLON 64 FX-53 1MB CACHE 939-PIN
ABIT AV8 SOCKET 939 K8 MOTHERBOARD
4x CORSAIR 512MB DDR PC3200XL XMSX
2x WESTERN DIGITAL RAPTOR 74GB SATA 10K RPM 8MB HD
CREATIVE SOUND BLASTER AUDIGY 2 ZS 7.1
EVGA 7800gs CO 256MB
PC POWER AND COOLING TURBO COOL 510 DELUXE PSU

I ran 3dmark03 and got 13000+ on it which i feel is pretty good but i dont know for sure.

Ran 3dmark06 and only got 3000 on it.

My question is does this sounds about right the results im getting from this card and my system or does it seem lacking?

Did you also take off the x800 drivers fully. Try this program, after removing the drivers via the add/remove programs in the control panel, reboot and then run driver cleaner and it will remove any bits of the x800 driver that were left behind.

Ok installed the forceware drivers, and ran the drivercleaner... still getting 13000 on 3dmark03 (think its cause of my CPU and my ram though... when playing a game i dont get any graphic lag or anything so im pretty happy with it still.... just thought i would be getting higher numbers on the benchmarks
