Lost all sound

I've made progress. Because of the configuration of the new case, the pins on the audio header were all bare. A closer examination of the motherboard's manual revealed that this could stop sound to the front jacks, so I put jumpers on the relevant pins, and now the speakers are working fine. Still nothing from the front jacks, though.

shouldnt there be pins sockets on the front jack cables ? use them
