Question Looking for a new video card...

Hey guys, i want sum sudgestions for a new video card. I have the PCIe x1600pro 512mb right now, and im really not happy with it. My Mobo has a Nvidia chipset so i think there might me some hardware conflict...so im told. I've been looking at the GeForce 8800 series, and i might go with one of those. I just want to be able to pop in a game at high settings and get good FPS. Here are my other specs:
KN8 SLI socket 939 Mother board
x1600pro 512mb
AMD 64bit 3200+
2gb ram (i think 1 stick is bad, i gotta do a test on it)
So, help me out guys, what do u think? I used to get like 70fps on DODs but now my PC is running like crap, 25fps.

well... im a 16year old kid so money is hard to come by lol. Probably 200-350$
I was told by sum geeky kid at Tigerdirect that Nvidia is coming out with sum new video card or somthing, meaning the 8800 Series will drop in price, is that true? Also, for the 8800s, i saw a EVGA brand and a PNY... whats the drifference? let me know, thanks!
