Default long beeps after turning pc on

hi guys my pc is beeping after it turned on, and it jumps to the bios for no reason... sometimes it can start windows normally but sometimes it just locks up. I was using firefox and suddenly a message " firefox has encountered a problem, and needs to be closed now".

few weeks ago my hard disk has file corruption and i didnt run the disk check, and now when i boot up the pc it doesnt ask for harddisk check but some applications crashes for no reason.

is my hard drive dead?

What motheboard do you have? And what hard drive?

I would attempt to get into safemode then run check disk once in windows. If it finds many errors I would say your hard drive is dying. Also go into the event viewer start->run then type eventvwr. When its open click system and see if you have any warnings if you do post back with what they say.
