Lexmark 6300 cartrige error

I'm currently working with a Lexmark 6300 that gives an error of "Missing color cartrige", even though there is a fresh cartrige installed. No matter what I do, I can't get the error to resolve. I've tried changing both cartriges with new ones, and uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. I've also made sure that the leads were clean and connected corectly, but still have no luck. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

i had the same problem with my my old HP.

when u put the cartrige in the printer it first needs to communicate with the printer first. there are a bunch of little pins in the printer that contacts the cartrige when its put in . take windex and spray it on a Q-tip and wipe the pins clean . do the same thing to the cartrige
