Hi,

I have a toshiba laptop and for some reason last night it wouldn't start correctly....The desk top isn't visible, all i can see is the tool bar at the bottom but i can't access any of the icons on it not even the start menu.

i can access files and programs via the task manager but it's really slow and if i go into processes its says CPU usage is at around 100%
I keep gettng a message up on screen saying windows explorer is not responding
I personally think if i can access the control panel i could use the restore point facility, but i can't get to the control panel....any ideas....

I'm on Vista

Hello,

After the BIOS screen comes up tap F8 to get teh advanced startup menu. Try Safe Mode and Last Known Good Configuration. See if you can get into safe mode to undo any recent changes or if Last knwon good config will allow it to fully boot.

Cheers,
Mak
