Laptop won't hibernate

When I try to hibernate, the screen goes black, then immediately comes back to the log on screen.

Not sure how to resolve this. I'm using Win7 and an SSD.

In the BIOS, do you have AS5 standby enabled? it is normally not on by default. It's normally in the onboard section, if I remember correctly.

I couldn't find any options that resembled that in my BIOS settings.

Do you have it set in power management that when you close the lid, it goes into hibernation?

Yes I do. Additionally, I mostly go into hibernate from the start menu where I am actively selecting to hibernate.

Does it stay in hibernation when you close the lid?

No, it does not go into hibernation via any of the three options I tested as listed below.
-Close lid as set via power management menu
-Push power button as set via power management menu
-Via start menu > Shut down > Hibernate

Is anybody able to provide any more assistance with this issue?
