Default Laptop speakers dont cut off when I plug in headphones.

This is becoming very annoying. I have a laptop, it is an iBuyPower. Its not the headphones im really worried about, but I have desktop speakers plugged into my laptop through the headphone jack, but the crappy on board speakers dont turn off. Nor do they turn off when i use headphones... anybody know what to do to fix this?

Sounds like a problem with the jack to me.

Change the world. Of one person. Today.

If your equation requires either a complex combination of variables to get the desired result OR you can't seem to get the result regardless of the ain't your variables, it's your constant.

The laptop may have settings for each speaker set individually, open audio properties and check if there is a PC speaker setting or something else that would be onboard speakers. Also, check your control panel, if the utility isn't built into the audio properties, manufacturers might put a separate utility in the control panel.
