laptop sound problem

I have a Toshiba Satellite A85 Series laptop whose sound quit randomly. When I'm using the laptop's speakers, I can hear sound midly, and when I plug headphones in, I hear none. I have checked all sound levels, including the sound icon on the taskbard and it is not that. Also, my driver is fine. Does anyone have an ideas? Any similar problems? Thanks in advance!

Open of the sound manager and change the device volumes.

Yeah, I definitely tried that already. Everything's at max. I was definitely thinking more along the lines of soundcard issue.
