Default Laptop Noises

Hi Everyone,
I have a Packard Bell laptop, about 3 years old now. Recently upon start-up there has been a strange noise, almost sounds like there's a distressed wasp inside my laptop! Now im guessing that it's the fan, maybe not spinning correctly or something? It ONLY happens for a few seconds when i turn the computer on, and that's it.

Can anyone help? Thanks, Matt.

Could be a hard drive as well. Something like that I would have to see.

Actually it could be the hard drive booting (like said above).

You should put your ear to the hard drive and then the fan to see where its coming from.

Ye the noise comes from where the fan is, perhaps theres just some dust in there clogging it up. How would i fix this? Should it be done ASAP, like will it cause more damage?

Open it up and see. If the fan is bad then you will have to get a new one on the heatsink.
