Laptop to HDTV audio problem

Hello everyone. When I connect my laptop to my HDTV, sometimes the audio works, and sometimes it doesn't. Or when it is working, and I pause the video, then play it, the audio doesn't work again. I don't know if this makes a difference, but I updated the audio on device manager and still has the same issues. Thanks.

Windows 7 I presume?
You make sure that the sound output is going through the HDMI port (
Control Panel=>Sound=>Playback)?

Edit:
And far as updating the audio driver, you actually want to update the VIDEO driver seeing as the HDMI output relys on the graphics card of the laptop.
