My friend gave me a laptop to fix, and it is full of problems. The main problem is the CPU fan wont work, causing the laptop to overheat. It doesn't apear to be clogged with dust or anything, although i haven't yet disasembled it. Another problem is that the battery doesn't work. In the bios, which are updated, it sees the battery and says it is charging, but stays at 0%. the battery led flashes orange 3 times, green once, than repeats. it is a dell inspiron 4100. I did notice that one time while windows had been running for a few minutes the fan did go on, but then shut off about 10 minutes later. I trust you guys more than dell support, so if you have any ideas, please help. thanks.
