Default Laptop died

Hi,

My laptop died and it apparently is completely dead.
How do I rescue my Thunderbird emails and contacts???

Bought USB drive where i attached my HDD, but cant access all the folders in there...any ideas?

There are programs out there to use. One is Knoppix based on linux. Bootable user interface. But I like SuperwinPE the best. These are made by people and will also boot off the cdrom.
It will boot up like a windows environment. And it has a CD burning program built in and file browsers. You need to have an external burner hooked up though cause you have to leave the bootable CD in the CD drive.

Apparently can't access the documents and settings folder 'cause I used password in my windows.

Hello,

You need to take ownership of the files and folders in question in order to gain access to them.

This is a common problem a lot of people experience when trying to access files on a hard drive, when slaved to a host PC.
