Keyboards not working with motherboard

Alright guys, just built my first computer and everything's working great. All the lights and fans are on, blah blah blah. Here's the only problem:

I plug in my keyboards, (I've tried like 5 of them) and they all light up, but no matter what buttons I press, nothing responds. Here's what I'm using

ASUS P5Q Deluxe LGA 775 P45 Intel Motherboard

I really have no idea what's wrong. If anyone could help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Both PS2 keyboards and USB keyboard with PS2 adapters don't work?

I haven't tried a USB to PS2 adapter. But I didn't think it would matter, as regular PS2 keyboards haven't been working.

So I gather you haven't been able to get into the bios setup then?

I see the P5Q has 1 port for both mouse and keyboard. You'll need a splitter cable for the keyboard to work.

I'll test that out. I just don't understand how a keyboard lights up and all that, but none of the keys work. It's madness!
