Default Keyboard Not Working

My Computer Failed About 2 Weeks Ago, so i took all of the hardware out of it like dvd drives, hard drives and stuff and put them in a backup pc, so i was trying to get it to power on again, and i got it to, but my keyboard (and presumably mouse) isnt working, i use a ps2 keyboard, so i tried a usb one, and that doesent work, my ps2 keyboard is working on other pcs as im typing this with that one now, and the usb one defiately works too.
any sugesstions on how to fix the problem?

If its any help, i do smell a slight burning smell.

Hmm.. you might have busted the ps2 ports in your PC, but if keyboard doesnt work through the usb ports then you might not have installed drivers for the keyboard/mouse. Check to see if you have them installed.

I would suggest that your Mobo has taken a dump. Without keyboard function at POST you cannot get to the bios. When you systems runs post do you key a keyboard load error? If not, then you will looking at buying a new mobo!!
