Keyboard not responding!

I upgraded windows 98 to XP Pro. but the keyboard will not work. It only beeps when i push a button. I've tried downloading and installing the drivers but it's still not working. I've also installed XP SP2. Any suggestions?

What type of Keyboard do you have ps2 or USB? Have you tried another keyboard? If you have ps2 try a USB keyboard. Also go into your divice manager and see if your keyboard is listed and if it is remove it and reboot.

it's a ps2.
i haven't tried a usb keyboard coz i don't have one yet.

I checked the device manager and the keyboard seems to be working perfectly.
The only yellow question marks were displayed under "other devices" and they were: audio controllers, RAID and USB controllers.
My USB ports work though.

Any other suggestions beside trying a USB keyboard?

uninstall the drivers for the keyboard and restart computer.
