I've got a problem with DEP

Each time I try to open any folders- My documents, my music, my videos, etc instead of the folder a window comes up that says Windows had to close this program to protect my computer
the Name of the the program is Windows Explorer. This even happens when I go to the start menu to open the control panel to turn DEP off. But it does let me get on any other programs that dont involve any folders apparently. i've run Norton, Ad-Ware, pestpatrol, and anything else i have but it still does the same thing.

Any suggestions?

Open up Internet explorer or another browser and type "My Computer" in the address bar, see if you can access your files through that method

It sounds like a corrupted Windows installation though

well i finally got to control panel by right clicking on an icon and selecting explore so i could go through everything and i turned off DEP
But i've decided this is a good time to format the hard drive so i'll be doing that next week.
