Default istoragepro 1TB External HDD Connecting To Mac problems-Help Plz

My roommate just recently purchased and istoragepro 1TB External HDD and upon connecting it to his computer it shutdown his comp for no reason. It was in the middle of transffering his itunes music to the HDD. He then tried to turn on his comp and the charger wasn't plugged in (the battery had a full charge) he plugged in the charger and his mac turned on. His clock got reset and he had to manually connect to his wireless (which never happens) then as soon as he unplugged his charger the comp went dead (still with a full charge). These problems haven't happened until we tried to use this external. Please for the love of god we need help any advice would be awesome. Thank You.

This a MacBook? You could have caused a shock. Try taking the battery out, wait a few minutes, and put it back in.
