Default Installing a second Hard Drive - Sata0/1/2 - is there a difference?

I'm installing a second hard drive and I've been reading through my user manual. It counsels to put any hard drives in SATA0 and SATA1 (with the boot drive in SATA0) and CD/DVD drives installed starting at SATA2 onwards. It also states in a seperate section I can install secondary hard drives in SATA1 and SATA2.

Now in my current configuration my first hard drive is in SATA0 and my DVD drive is in SATA1. Both of these are positioned near my memory, the others being further away. Should I just install my second hard drive into SATA2? Is there some advantage to having it in SATA1 instead? My manual seems to imply I should have all hard drives first and then the DVD drive. If I did install it in SATA1 and move my DVD drive into SATA2 will I have to do something in the BIOS to make sure the computer knows that I've moved the DVD drive?

There would be no difference. I believe the OS is the only one that matters. For speed, there is no difference if you put in on Sata 1 vs Sata 5. The only important one is the one with the OS and that usually has to be on Sata 0.
