Default Is this an install problem or something?

Today I just got a new laptop and when I try to run Youtube videos, all it gives me is a flashing purple to white to black screen. I thought it was Java so I installed that yes it didn't do much. All my drivers are updated. It looks like this:

Did you install the latest Adobe Flash? That is what YouTube uses.

Yeah. Google Chrome has it pre-installed although I still tried installing the new one. Is the newest one 11.3? Youtube still doesn't work though.

Try disabling hardware acceleration for Flash.

Right click the video > Flash settings > should be the first tab it goes to, uncheck "enable hardware acceleration"

I've had issues with flash videos just displaying green when it was enabled. I would get audio, but no video.
