I just bought a new computer and I want to put my old HD in there. Problem is, it's an IDE HD and the motherboard only has SATA slots. I saw on ebay an IDE to SATA adapter. According to the auction it says I connect it into my motherboard. Is it possible to connect it to my HD and connect the SATA part to the motherboard? If not what do I need because I just need my files off that HD then I'm going to buy a SATA HD to make it easier. Thanks in advanced.

EDIT: Upon further review I have found this. I should probably just get this for now huh?

How can your motherboard not have any IDE slots. What about the optical drive. Is it connected via SATA as well?

Yea I know that, but I never heard of a motherboard that only has SATA ports and not IDE.
