james.wired Equator Gringo Messages 2,318 Location Panama Jan 13, 2010 #2 No, AMD uses different socket then Intel all-together. You can't switch them out. You have to have a motherboard that supports the i7 socket (1136 or 1156 depending on which i7 you were thinking of) to use it.
