well i've run prime95 on torture mode (blend) for 20 hours and it hasn't crashed yet.

and that's 62 degrees C on IDLE.

so should i go ahead and use it without fear of it crashing in the future?

thanks.

hmm.... my pentium 4 runs hot, what cooling are yolu using, if you are using the Stock Cooler that is hot, but it should be ok! the cut out is about 150 degrees C so you have nothing to worry about :)

I have a P4 prescott and they are notorious for running hot. Mine was running at 93c!!! but I took both sides off my computer and used compressed air (air compressor for a blow up bed or you can buy cans of compressed air) and blew all the dust out from inside the computer, paying special attention to blow the dust from the heat sink and fan. Put everything back together and it runs at about 45c idle now. Just a suggestion if you haven't tried it yet.
