Im trying to format and re-install windows XP home edition onto my dell inspiron notebook. but when It starts to install, I get an error I read the log and its saying I have an I/O device error. Its also telling me I have a data error (cyclic redundancy check). Right now i have no clue what to do. If this has anything to do with the problem, its an E1505. Thanks

I/O error sounds like an input device, and where its a laptop, maybe the mouse ? And the cyclic redundancy, maybe memory issue I'm guessing. Did you install all your most current drivers ? Service packs version the latest ?
