I need some more suggestion and help !!

Ok now I need some help , I havent recieved my ddr 400 ram yet but I got my cpu and video card in today. I went ahead and threw the whole system together with ddr 333 ram. When I first powered the system It gave me a blank screen but sounded like it was booting up and the board did not beep. I turned it back off checked my connections and turned it back on and this time I got a visual got to the point were it was asking if I wanted to boot up to a disk and then the screen went black. Is this because my board does not support my cpu ?? I check my video card on my other comp and works just fine. I know I need to update bios but how am i supposed to do that when I cant see. If anything I might end up buying a new board. Id apreciate the help and any info would be apreciated THNX

Did you check your video connections? Do you have an OS installed?

No I do not I checked new video card on other comp and works fine. All connections have been checked several times. I just need to figure out how to update the bios without having to buy a cpu that is supported.
