I don't know that this is your problem, but mine actually ended up being the board itself, kinda. Apparently, this board ONLY allows certain things in certain IDE slots. Slot 1 is ONLY for cd roms, Slot two and three handle hard drives. Also, check the settings in the Bios, that was another part of my problem. I got mine working just by these two things, and she has been pretty great since.
